Reckless Love Ranch was built by two people who came to the same idea from different directions. Martin Mendoza grew up in Autlán, Mexico, raised by his mother Ramona on a life centered around land, food, and feeding the people around her. Those roots shaped him into a farmer and private chef who has spent his career connecting people to where their food actually comes from.
Dr. Rehana Peiris brings a background in psychology and wellness coaching, and a conviction that rescued animals have something to offer people who are struggling — a kind of presence that's hard to manufacture any other way. Together they run the ranch as both a working farm and a healing space.
From the two rescue horses and the working goat herd, to the rescued dogs waiting for forever homes and the chickens roaming the property — every animal here has a story. Guests come for a petting zoo, a private tour, a goat yoga class, or a grazing quote, and tend to leave with something they didn't expect.
The name comes from the worship song — about second chances, grace that doesn't make sense on paper, and unconditional love. That's the spirit behind everything we do here.
Our rescue animals come from shelters, ranches, and situations of neglect. Here they find safety. And in return, they offer something real to the people who visit.

Two horses — one white, one dark bay — both rescued and now thriving at the ranch. They're a quiet, grounding presence on every private tour.
We rescue dogs, foster them through the hard part, and help them find forever homes. Every dog here has been given a second chance, and they're happy to meet you when you visit.
A flock of free-range chickens roam the property, adding life and character to every visit. They're a ranch staple and a favorite with guests of all ages.
Rescuing dogs is not a new program here. It is one of the first things this ranch ever did, and we have never stopped. Dogs come to us out of shelters, land at the sanctuary, and stay until the right family clears our interview.
A kennel run is no place to grow up. We say yes to the ones who need out first, before the clock does the deciding.

There is no flat adoption fee list. Fees vary by animal and by the care that animal has already needed, and every dollar goes back into the rescue.
California cities are under real pressure to clear overgrowth, reduce fire risk, and stay CAL FIRE compliant, without chemicals, heavy machinery, or blowing the budget. Our goats handle terrain that tractors cannot touch.
We walk the parcel, assess terrain and fuel load, and tell you honestly whether goats are the right tool.

Grazing is quoted per site because acreage, slope, access, and fuel load change the number every time. The consultation is always free.
Our free-range hens lay brown, cream, and blue eggs, collected by hand here at the ranch in Woodcrest. Happier hens, better eggs, and every carton helps feed the animals.

Reckless Love Ranch is open for private events and for film, television, and photography productions. Open land, rescued animals, working corrals, and a pace that slows everything down. There is no set in Riverside County that looks like this, because it is not a set.
We keep bookings small by design. This is a working ranch and the animals live here, so we run one booking at a time and someone from the ranch is always on hand. Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
